The last thing you remember is dying. Whether it's by murder or execution, that's was all it. But surprisingly enough, you wake up in the hotel room that you were assigned in, as if you had never died to begin with. However, once you walk right outside, you'll start noticing that while this is the Town A you remember, there are some slight differences that you notice.

The first thing is the fact that while you can see those who are still alive, they simply cannot see you. In fact, they pass through you, as if you were a ghost. And spoilers: you kind of are one, now. The second thing is that sometimes, if you look at a building for too long or too closely, you'll notice that it fizzles a bit, almost glitchy.

But that's completely fine, isn't it? There is, however, one more thing to keep in mind: there are voices of other people, mumuring. Of course, these other people, unlike you, don't have a complete shape; they're just a silhouette of themselves, looking like static.

However: it wouldn't be Town A without an announcement, would it? Of course not. Hence why upon rearriving, there will be a message, typed out:

Welcome to the afterlife, everyone. This is a greeting message to introduce you to how exactly this works. You have the ability to send one message to the living a week, so choose your words wisely. Of course, there are limitations to what you can say! You cannot reveal the mastermind's true identity, even if you know it. You cannot reveal a culprit or a victim, even if you know it.

Also, all messages will be sent to all players during the trials. If there is no trial, the message shall be sent on Saturday. You may investigate as you wish. If you have any questions to ask of me, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

... Speaking of which, what is this all about then? 'Cause I... I don't want to think that you're really that cold or enjoy all of us killing each other like the way you sound as M-chan.

Oh, you really think so? I'm glad! Well, being M on the network was to get people off my back since I was also at the meeting. So then I could raise the question as to how I managed to be in two places at once.

I thought a cruel mastermind would fit everyone's image, so that's the character I played. My job right now is to save everyone. By the way, Fav can hear me but he can't hear any of you guys. Not that it matters, since that thing already knows my intentions.

He doesn't care, though.

[Her own smile is barely there, a faint twitch as she strolls forward.]

Well, at least someone considers that angle. I've been waiting until the time was 'nigh'.

[She smooths her robe out, sighing as she peers down at herself. If only she could remember what she looked like. No matter.]

I will warn you now, my powers as a Seer have been greatly reduced by this place. We will have to search the areas ourselves to find where the keys need to be. ...I'm still loathe to trust this plan. But I vaguely recall far worse ones than this.

...I'm sorry it didn't work. [She'll hug Eruna hard.] Who...who was it? [Who does she have to throw marshmallows at this time?]

TRIAL FIVE

[ Belated, but here's a toplevel for your trial spectating. ]

[And for once, we get an early confession.]

[Hi Eliza, here's a newer ghost who looks like this tall, kind of generic guy. Really, he doesn't have a lot worth describing.]

Somebody did that to me when I got here.

So...you killed someone too? [Or did you just piss someone off too much?]

You can't save everyone. [She pauses, then decides to throw Eruna a bit of a bone.]

It's possible you saved someone else with your life.

He's convicted to his reasons for doing what he did.

[Oh boy, give him a second to explain this.]

I did something stupid and got killed.

[He'd lie, but then he'll get ghost punched again.]

I hit Tamamo too. And I liked her! It wouldn't make sense to spare him.

[There are two reactions of note from One (who has been largely keeping herself to the area around that new fountain-tree if there's anything interesting to be found there). First, she tracks the reading of her letter like a hawk, her face twisting a little bit when Szayelaporro is the one to pick it up. Her attention will be on that corner until the trial proper really kicks up, until...

The second happens when Joshua confesses not only to the murder but to being the traitor as well.]

So it was true... [She murmurs to herself.] I suppose that always happens. [She can't imagine this mechanic, like any other incentive, hasn't been employed countless times before.] I wonder what someone like that would know about our situation.

... How are you going to save everyone, if you're having Fav deal out those motives to get us to kill each other?

[Like really, what kind of sense does that make??]

... Joshua. He tried to attack me outside the police station and our fight ended up at the karaoke place. I tried to just knock him out with my Toy Gun, but...

[Apparently, the burns and bright light wasn't enough to deter him.]

... Yeah, at least it wasn't someone else, like Edna-chan, or Recette, or...

[Or really anyone else that's still alive. She's not the type to wish something like that upon someone, even if they might deserve it.]

[He's wincing a little. It was pretty dumb, but not that...okay, actually, maybe it was that dumb.]

Then...what did you do?

Toy Gun? Is that a nickname for something more dangerous?

He's the one who's pushing all of those motives on his own and blaming me for it! I have nothing to do with it.

[When he wakes up, he's not sure what to think. His... execution has him on edge and waking up in his room is just not right. One thing is for sure-- he needs to find Estelle. So he's up and running out of his room and the lobby. He sees people he recognizes and--]

Hey, can you tell me what's going on?

[His persona is his usual and calm one, but it's clear that he's a bit panicked. When he's not getting a response, that cool persona of his starts to break a little more. And when he's being phased through like a ghost, well... that just makes things clear and yet more confusing at the same time...]

Shit...

[His first instinct is to check the dollhouse, but even that place isn't right the more he stares at it. Nothing is right.

Maybe this is Gehenna, but he deserves it after all that he's done.]

[Well, Joshua, do you hear that sound of running feet behind you, while you're walking around? Do you hear that scream getting louder and louder? That's the sound of Eliza, transformed and very angry. She's got one fist raised, and as soon as she gets close enough, she's going to lunge and try to punch him in the back.]

That's for Eruna!

[He can hear the foot steps running to him and the screaming so... it's not exactly difficult to determine that this is meant for him. He doesn't even need to sense her to figure out when to dodge that punch that's definitely aimed for him.

It's just a side step really, and he's not going to transform or do anything that indicates he's on the defensive. Just... make sure he doesn't die a second death...]

Yeah, yeah I would deserve something like that...

[Except it's second nature for him to dodge so there he is. In any case, he's not in a talking mood right now so he just sighs and looks back at that dollhouse. Probably not the right response to have right now in regard to the angry girl.]

[Well, she would respond, but her lunge means that she's going to drop facefirst towards the ground instead. She's going to flail for a moment, then try to grab onto him to arrest that fall.]
