The last thing you remember is dying. Whether it's by murder or execution, that's was all it. But surprisingly enough, you wake up in the hotel room that you were assigned in, as if you had never died to begin with. However, once you walk right outside, you'll start noticing that while this is the Town A you remember, there are some slight differences that you notice.

The first thing is the fact that while you can see those who are still alive, they simply cannot see you. In fact, they pass through you, as if you were a ghost. And spoilers: you kind of are one, now. The second thing is that sometimes, if you look at a building for too long or too closely, you'll notice that it fizzles a bit, almost glitchy.

But that's completely fine, isn't it? There is, however, one more thing to keep in mind: there are voices of other people, mumuring. Of course, these other people, unlike you, don't have a complete shape; they're just a silhouette of themselves, looking like static.

However: it wouldn't be Town A without an announcement, would it? Of course not. Hence why upon rearriving, there will be a message, typed out:

Welcome to the afterlife, everyone. This is a greeting message to introduce you to how exactly this works. You have the ability to send one message to the living a week, so choose your words wisely. Of course, there are limitations to what you can say! You cannot reveal the mastermind's true identity, even if you know it. You cannot reveal a culprit or a victim, even if you know it.

Also, all messages will be sent to all players during the trials. If there is no trial, the message shall be sent on Saturday. You may investigate as you wish. If you have any questions to ask of me, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Everyone,

This is Kurosawa Dia speaking. I am still here. Sentient, I suppose. So is Beyond Birthday, and Eliza-san has joined us as well. I am not sure what is happening here, but we do have other people here who are here with us. They are more like shadows, static, if you will...and I suppose you could say that the three of us are like ghosts.

The town is generally the same, but everything seems fuzzier here.

I will do my best to expose any mysteries from this side and keep you all updated when I can. Good luck on your next trial. Hopefully one of you will be able to write back to us somehow; it would be convenient to have communication between our two sides.

[Well, being shredded by mirror glass and incinerated is a great way to wake up in the morning, so there's some hoarse screaming coming from his room as he shoots awake. He's only human, so there's only so much composure he can have. Though he'll stagger out into the hallway and look around in confusion, not even bothering to hunch, he'll eventually go back to recollect his cell phone. Upon reading the message, his expression goes back to blank as his fingers reach to reply to sender.]

Who is this?

[And eventually he'll explore the newly opened areas of the town. Of course, he searches all over so he could be found anywhere, but the most unusual of these is the playground. He'll actually sit on the swings, spring horsey and merry-go-round. Good opportunity to send him for a well-deserved spin, if desired.]

You're supposed to be smart, aren't you? Guess.

[ That's the immediate reply that's sent back to him, still anonymous as always. ]

Oh...that's so much better. [The static has gathered at the edge of the river in the form of a boy. He watches the water with his arms wrapped around himself. Every now and then the static snaps at his feet.]

It feels like I can breathe again.

[He raises his head to regard anyone who has approached.]

...finally, someone heard us.

[Well, that sure is a thing. He pokes around the river sometimes, so he'll be the first to see this. He eyes it impassively, but why not, he'll bite.]

A boy made of static. This place gets more and more mysterious... Well, were you going to explain?

[Eliza wakes up, her hand clapped over her neck. But when she pulls it away...she's fine. Trembling, she gets out of bed, looking around, before going over to wake up her Pokemon.

They don't notice her.]

Dragon? Crown? I'm here! Look over at me! Please, look at me! [It takes her door being opened by someone else for her to realize she's dead, and so she leaves.]

...Zack, you're okay. Thank goodness. [She tries to hug him, but of course it fails.]

[She'll be wandering around town, trying desperately to find anyone who can see her. She might end up seeing her own dead body at some point.]

[ And the person who notices her is... Zange? Apparently? Who is in an area away from the crime scenes. ]

You look rather frantic, but I guess that's a bit normal for newcomers.

WEEK 2 - TRIAL

The moment the clock hits 8 AM, all ghosts, just like the living, will be transported into the trial room. Of course, they'll notice that they'll be at the trial before the living due to certain... circumstances, but hey. April Fool's, am I right?

Basically, feel free to make your own top levels in regards to the trial happenings for the week.

Letters

What? That shouldn't be- [The nearest ghost a smaller girl with an outline of a sword scabbard on her hip surges forward. She halts before her fingers would pass through the hand holding the letter.]

...That isn't. [It can't be. But if it is...she turns towards the new ghosts.] How did you do it? All those years of searching and we've never once been able to reach anyone.

Hi everyone! This is Eliza! I've been thinking, and I thought maybe you guys could leave messages in my room so I can read them! Also I'll be in there around 6-7 PM each day so if you have something to say you can come there and I'll be listening! But I have some messages for you guys as well.

To everyone - I'm really sorry things ended up like that. I just wanted to make sure no one would be killed, and I was too confident in my own abilities. I wish it wouldn't have ended like that.

To my Pokemon - I'm glad I was able to find you here again, even if you can't really see me anymore. I know some of you will probably miss me a lot, but Zack's a nice person, okay? Be good for him.

Zack - I'm glad you're alright! Thank you for taking care of my Pokemon. Slinky likes sweet food and dislikes sour food. And I'm sorry for freaking you out with those dolls! I was just so excited I could finally do something to communicate with you guys.

Tamamo - I can see you're upset, but please don't take it out on others, okay?

Recette - I'm sorry you had to see that. But I'm counting on you to keep hope alive! I don't blame you for what happened during the last trial at all, okay? Oh, and please look after Zack and Tamamo. Don't let them keep fighting every time a trial happens.

Taiki - Help Zack take care of my Pokemon, okay? They're really nice, even if they're probably not quite like the Digimon you know.

Week 3, Wednesday

[Eliza's feet end up bringing her to the dollhouse today. She pokes her head in curiously, before blinking at all the dolls of people. Which apparently some of the others here recognize. She looks some more, and finds a pair of dolls that resemble...her own parents. After a while, she transforms into her magical form.]

Hi Mom...hi Dad. I...didn't expect this to happen when I left home, you know? I...I've made a lot of new friends too. I'll...I'll do my best to come home to you. [She reaches out to hug the dolls after a while.] I'll introduce you to all my friends from here... [Yeah there's no way that can go wrong.]

Re: Week 3, Wednesday

[And after realizing that she can affect the dolls in her transformed state, she's going to hurry and look for anyone else in here. Upon finding this scene, she immediately tries to grab the nearest doll and make it wave.]

Week 3 - Tuesday - Police station

[If you venture past the police station one of the shadowy ghosts is there. He has been there since Monday. He'd been the silent figure standing at the back of the group during trials and the rarest seen around. For a ghost he keeps to himself. The impressions from his silhouette is average clothes, sometimes the impression of a tie. It's the hair every time that makes it obvious which one he is. The spike at the top is unusual.

He looks up at anyone approaching directly, and puts his clear attention on. Solitary he might be, but unfriendly he is not.] What is it?

[Eliza is just walking past right now.] Oh, um, hi! I just...wanted to see what was in here. [A pause] You...were part of a previous game as well?

Week 3 - Tuesday - During the Meeting

[If any of the dead are sitting in on the meeting, they might see a new ghost hanging around. It's hard to tell, but her clothes look fairly normal? Something that looks like a vest, maybe? There's a skirt too...probably. Kind of hard to make out exactly what's going on here, sorry.]

Oh my god, someone found that?

[Of all the things being talked about today, that's what she focuses on, despite all the static, she sounds mortified about this. Nobody was supposed to find that. She didn't even want to find it the first time.]

['Sitting in on' is a very nice way of saying 'watching the meeting out of spite in the hopes that it implodes,' but she's also still trying to hold onto some tenuous peace (or truce, at least) with Zange. One's still having difficulties adjusting to their fellow staticky dead, and so it takes her a moment to even conjure up a response, speaking slowly even though she's well aware by now that the rest of the room won't respond.]

Week 4 - Thursday (park)

[Eliza is just sitting on a bench today, watching the people passing by. She seems pretty quiet for once, and unsure of what to do. She's learned that she can communicate with the living to some extent, but even that's kind of tough with all the interpretations and such they have to go through. And she'll need to wait until Saturday before everyone can actually receive her letter.]

[She's resigned herself already to there being a death this week. The amount of anger and protective instinct these people have can't really be underestimate. Resignation doesn't make her calm, though, so One is antsy and frustrated. She's definitely almost stormed straight through an alive-person's day at least once, and she narrowly avoids one such (lack of) collision right in front of the bench before approaching the unusually-quiet Eliza.]

It must be difficult to know the real killer is still walking around.

[She wakes up with a scream volting out of her throat.

For a long time, Nanami sits up on her bed, breathing hard. It takes a long time for her to realize that she is in her room, as well as the fact that she's no longer in pain. Her head is not smashed in and there are no broken mirror shards in her flesh. Finally, she releases a shaky sigh into her hands.

She should have expected that it would be a trap. She doesn't blame anyone involved - not for killing her the first time or the second. All of them just wanted to go home; Nanami can't blame them for that, even if they hurt her. But betrayal is still betrayal, and even if she doesn't blame or hate them, there's a relentless pain that stabs at her heart.

Eventually she'll wander out of her room. She doesn't know why she's back at the inn, but... She supposes there's no point in questioning it now. When Nanami sees some of the people she knows exiting the inn, something hopeful leaps in her chest, but it quickly sinks - no matter how she tries to call out to them, they don't hear her. And when she tries to touch Recette's arm, her hands passes through. Like she's a ghost or something.

...That is what she is now, huh?

Nanami's hands clutch her sleeves. She's... all alone now, isn't she?

All alone again.

Like before. When there were none of the friends she made here. Before her classmates. Before Yukizome. Before Hinata.

Just her and her games. And now she doesn't even have that anymore. Nothing to take away that empty feeling of not having friends.

...Being dead is worse than being killed.]

[ One of the few that's still in the inn is Zange, who immediately sees Nanami as she's walking past. Most of the others are out by now, investigating, while Zange herself is... here. ]

If you want to talk a bit, my room is open for you, Nanami-san.

[ Her voice is lowered and polite; instead of calling her Chiaki-chan like she always did, she goes back to something more formal. ]

You saw my message, didn't you?

WEEK 3 - TRIAL

[The trial's started and the one who speaks up today seems to be a rather young boy - it's hard to decipher his age, considering that they're made of static - but people might be able to notice that he's wearing some sort of baseball cap.]

Y'know, they really shouldn't be fighting... [And yet they are.]

Zack...you were trying to avenge me? I'm so touched...

[Well, after that...terrifying...execution, Eliza has made her way to Tamamo's room. She's waiting outside the door right now, her arms crossed in front of her, her eyes still teary. She can wait her all day for you to come out, girl. Hopefully you do it soon.]

[Tamamo doesn't budge, for a while.

Then, suddenly, the door creaks open. She makes... direct eye contact with Eliza, as if without fear or hesitation.

And then she suddenly slams the door.]

[Eliza is not pleased at this scene.] Hey! Leave him alone! You shouldn't be pointing swords at people during something serious like this! [Eliza is going to make a few futile attempts to shove Szayel's sword aside, but finally gives up on that and turns to the food tables. It seems pretty rude to actually throw something at him...so instead she just tries to grab a marshmallow from one plate and shove it onto the tip of the sword.]

Hi again everyone! I wish I could actually write messages to you outside of this, but I guess we have to work with what we have. You guys should be more careful when entering those rooms, though, okay? Go together so accidents like last week's don't happen! And I hope you're all holding on to those keys!

I'll definitely be at the ball when it happens, too! Maybe we can figure out some way for us to dance together. I'll see if I can put together an outfit somehow.

Zack - I'm touched you'd go so far for me, but you'd better not do something like that ever again, okay? I don't want to have to punch any more of my friends!

Recette - You're doing your best! Slinky can be hard to handle sometimes, but let her battle a bit with other Pokemon and she'll probably feel a bit better. And bring her to my room to visit sometime.

Dahlia - Congrats on becoming a Pokemon trainer! I know it must be really tough for these Pokemon, so take good care of them, okay?

Eruna - Those meetings were a pretty good idea! I'll make sure to be at the next one too!

They can't hear you. [Hinata says as he catches the snack in mid-air and drops it to the ground.] This isn't helping, either.

[So, after learning about the town borders from Zange, Eliza is going to be going around the edges of the barrier and trying to see if there's anything that stands out. She has a few rocks with her as well, in case she finds anything that needs to be marked.]

You should try not to carry rocks that are too large, you know.

[ And here is Zange, not exactly in the best of moods - she looks a little exhausted, even. Also as a note: nothing really stands out at the edges of the barrier right now. ]

Eliza's Room, Tuesday evening

[Eliza's here if anyone has any messages to tell her directly, although she sees what she expects-only Zack is there right now. Although...huh, that's a pretty good idea. She leans over, making the doll lift its head and turn it towards Zack, before raising a hand in greeting.]

...hey there.

[...Man, how do you convey "I can hold it, but I can't write or draw with it"? She supposes the fastest way is just to shake her head. After all, there isn't much else you can do with a pencil (besides throw it at people.)]

...Wish I could. That would make things so much easier.

tuesday - restaurant + room 28

She found my key!

[Someone sounds really excited. And the person who says this is a young boy with a cap on as he gestures at any ghosts nearby.]

C'mon, you should come with me to the room!

[He's just a kid, and she's not sure how she feels about that. Age doesn't mean anything to her--children can be killers--but this seems different.]

You're excited. Is there something you want them to find in there?

Wednesday;

[With no incentive for murder on the table and the news that the network is in an even sorrier state, One's taking the day to put into action some of the conversation she had with Hinata last week. Solid-outlined he may be now, but that doesn't make their need for a more reliable means of communication any less true.

Right now, she can be found on the roof of the hotel prodding at her ghost phone and working on a (hopefully less abrasive) letter for the week. She's doing things like checking the ghost network to see if it's also down or if messages can still be left, staring at glitches intently to check their frequency and any reactions in her own self, and generally writing a letter that makes her look like a stuck-up jerk.]

Thursday;

[One would like to avoid any altercations with her own body, though she imagines it wouldn't be so unsettling now that she's had time to prepare for it.

So when she goes to the hospital, she plans to get the morgue floor out of the way first. Knowing there's another ghost who happens to spend most of its (her) time here, but not knowing who she is, she's here to see what morbid wisdom she could offer.]

[The ghost network can still be used, so you're free to use that, apparently.]

Day of the ball!

[Before the mastermind announcement, Eliza can be found in the dollhouse, searching for dolls with jackets and gloves and stealing them. After a few failed attempts to put on a jacket, she gives up on those and just starts collecting gloves, before dropping them all on a table and looking through them.

Later on, she'll be at the ball in magical girl form, carrying a pair of gloves with her and watching the scene.]

[Eliza grins a bit when she notices Recette trying to dance. She lifts one of the gloves and taps her on the shoulder, before bowing and extending the other one.]

Hi everyone! That ball was pretty nice, even with the weird kissing stuff and Gible running around. Also I forgot to tell you guys, but I'll be leaving some piles of rocks at places that are important with relation to the keys, although I haven't been able to find any yet.

Recette - It was fun dancing with you, even if it didn't quite work out the way I wanted. Apparently I can't move stuff once you're touching it too. I hope we get to do that the right way sometime! And you're doing a good job keeping Slinky and Dragon occupied. Keep them close, okay?

Dahlia - It's fine to recall Gible if he gets too rowdy. But his trainer told me that biting is how he shows affection, so I guess that means he likes Zack. His trainer doesn't know how to stop that either. Maybe just let him battle more?

Zack - Crown seems to really like you, even if it's just for the food. You'd better keep taking good care of him, okay? And watch over Recette, too. I know Dragon and Slinky will do their best to protect her, but I'd feel better knowing you're working together.

Szayelaporro - I'm happy to see that you're not pointing your sword at Zack anymore. But if you break his heart, I'll kill you. ;) (That's what you're supposed to say in this case, right?)

Eruna - I didn't really have anything to say at this meeting, because everyone was being very polite! I guess I should thank you for that as well! (If you break Recette's heart, I'll kill you too.) i didn't mean it

Monday

[Eliza is looking for the ghost with the baseball cap on his head. She'll check out room 28 first, and if that doesn't reveal anything she'll move on to the restaurant where he was previously. After that she'll probably just wander around town, and maybe try and track down some of the Pokemon here to see if he's following them.]
