The last thing you remember is dying. Whether it's by murder or execution, that's was all it. But surprisingly enough, you wake up in the hotel room that you were assigned in, as if you had never died to begin with. However, once you walk right outside, you'll start noticing that while this is the Town A you remember, there are some slight differences that you notice.

The first thing is the fact that while you can see those who are still alive, they simply cannot see you. In fact, they pass through you, as if you were a ghost. And spoilers: you kind of are one, now. The second thing is that sometimes, if you look at a building for too long or too closely, you'll notice that it fizzles a bit, almost glitchy.

But that's completely fine, isn't it? There is, however, one more thing to keep in mind: there are voices of other people, mumuring. Of course, these other people, unlike you, don't have a complete shape; they're just a silhouette of themselves, looking like static.

However: it wouldn't be Town A without an announcement, would it? Of course not. Hence why upon rearriving, there will be a message, typed out:

Welcome to the afterlife, everyone. This is a greeting message to introduce you to how exactly this works. You have the ability to send one message to the living a week, so choose your words wisely. Of course, there are limitations to what you can say! You cannot reveal the mastermind's true identity, even if you know it. You cannot reveal a culprit or a victim, even if you know it.

Also, all messages will be sent to all players during the trials. If there is no trial, the message shall be sent on Saturday. You may investigate as you wish. If you have any questions to ask of me, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I've taken your warnings to heart. [She pauses, tracking his gaze with her own. That girl will hardly recognize her own death, stumbling around as though it was the same as when she was alive.]

I'll have my soul purged from this place before that happens. I won't deteriorate like that. [Would it mean cursing the rest of them to this? Can she condemn them?]

[Ok, buddy. Touching your blood stained notebook was gross enough, touching your literal soul in key form is just... ugh. But aside from making a bit of a face, she doesn't actually say this because she realizes it makes her sound like a five year old.]

...Rose? [There, that's a polite inquiry. She shakes her head afterwards though.] I doubt i'd understand it even after someone explained magic to me. But let me ask you this: does dear Miss Zange need to be alive in order to complete the ritual?

She's a child. Her beliefs in this world are...childish. [But she does nothing to correct Dahlia's harsh words, and the sharpness in her voice might suggest that One has some of the same perspective.]

She's not about to lay down and die so easily. However, there is little guarding against the hunter, who I have been told has mind-reading capabilities.

I don't have any more questions. I did want to see that were still of sound mind, and that seems to be the case. Of course, we may be your only trump card if things continue to devolve.

[He'd point out that being dead doesn't mean you can't get hurt, but like she said, besides the point.]

If I could've found a way to get what I wanted without doing that, I would've. I didn't want to kill either of them. If Eliza hadn't come at me with that weapon...

I suppose you'll next be telling me it's essentially our faults for using the keys to open too many doors which weakened the barrier enough for the hunter to enter in the first place?

[She'll scoff here, and gives One a sideglance before continuing.]

But who's the source of that information? Anyone can pass themselves off as a "mind reader" if they've been given the opportunity to study their prey long enough. I can already think of one such individual amongst us who's been doing exactly that.

[If Dahlia actually disliked Kaine, she'd deliberately obfuscate the point by twisting his words, but she doesn't dislike him... so congrats on that dubious achievement, Kaine.]

Mm, you were really going after Zack, weren't you? Strange how the butterfly effect works.. in failing to kill him, you indirectly caused him to do on a murderous rampage that led to two people dying....

Was that wish worth it at least?

Don't be mistaken... [She pauses. It's not that they're comrades. She trusts the rest of the dead more than she will ever put her faith in Zange's intentions, and even then...all of their worlds are different, and One is not sure what unifies them except for their circumstances.]

I will look for those leylines. The Song could have been a great magic in a kinder world. [Maybe it can achieve one more thing.]

[He's just staring because it sure sounds like all Dahlia's done is judge people through this entire conversation. Well, partially because of the judging, but moreso because...]

[She looks to the doors, her voice tired for a moment.]

[He turns his head to look at her a spark of anger in his eyes. It dies quickly as he puts a hand over his face, his tired voice filling the briefly tense silence.]

Did you not listen to me before? If the Mastermind dies, the next is selected from the survivors. The ritual needs a highly magical person that's used to shaping power.

It has to be Zange. ...Rose is a seer and as close to a god as you can get outside of Zange. If you want to have a talk with her check the hospital. She hangs out by a nurse station or the morgue. Don't ask me why, something about keeping her honest.

[Likely it's just Rose screwing with people. He prefers not to know what statements like that mean.] Anyway, that's what I know about the ritual.

[Yeah, Zack's gotten over his own death... Sort of. He's still really pissed off at his predicament. Can't tell anyone about Zange, can't say who really killed Eliza... Hell, he can't even touch anything without going through it.]

[Fuck it. He's going to hang out at the steel tower again. Death be damned! If he can at least get one person who isn't Zange to hear him speak, that would be great!]

[He's not sure if this is gonna work, with his death being relatively recent, but he's stubborn. Wanna come bother him?]
