The last thing you remember is dying. Whether it's by murder or execution, that's was all it. But surprisingly enough, you wake up in the hotel room that you were assigned in, as if you had never died to begin with. However, once you walk right outside, you'll start noticing that while this is the Town A you remember, there are some slight differences that you notice.

The first thing is the fact that while you can see those who are still alive, they simply cannot see you. In fact, they pass through you, as if you were a ghost. And spoilers: you kind of are one, now. The second thing is that sometimes, if you look at a building for too long or too closely, you'll notice that it fizzles a bit, almost glitchy.

But that's completely fine, isn't it? There is, however, one more thing to keep in mind: there are voices of other people, mumuring. Of course, these other people, unlike you, don't have a complete shape; they're just a silhouette of themselves, looking like static.

However: it wouldn't be Town A without an announcement, would it? Of course not. Hence why upon rearriving, there will be a message, typed out:

Welcome to the afterlife, everyone. This is a greeting message to introduce you to how exactly this works. You have the ability to send one message to the living a week, so choose your words wisely. Of course, there are limitations to what you can say! You cannot reveal the mastermind's true identity, even if you know it. You cannot reveal a culprit or a victim, even if you know it.

Also, all messages will be sent to all players during the trials. If there is no trial, the message shall be sent on Saturday. You may investigate as you wish. If you have any questions to ask of me, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

[She clenches her teeth. Of course it would be something like that...How wrong it would be to judge Zange for doing something that One herself would do. Well, she can damn herself later.]

Then you must have a reason for playing alongside us now. You don't take risks without reason. Unless you're not the type to have a plan--but are you?

I see. [She'd like to know more about what that game was like, but is smart enough not to ask those invasive questions so quickly.]

How do you feel about our host who straddles the worlds of living and dead?

The main reason is to perform the ritual. If I'm behind the scenes, it makes it harder for me to do that without getting killed by someone.

[partyleader]

[The fact that Zange is used to it makes Nanami sad, but she lets it be for now.]

Is there a way to end the game without anyone else dying? [There must be...

Nanami doesn't want to think of the alternative.]

[Nanami's eyes widen.]

Eliza-san... You're here, too...

[Something like guilt twists at her heart.] I'm sorry we couldn't figure out the person who killed you. Do you know who it was?

[Although Nanami supposes it... doesn't exactly matter at this point. But it would be nice to know.]

Dr2 and dr3 spoilers

[The name that she remembers from the game and Hinata's yell echo in her head until, finally, a shaky whisper escapes from her.]

Kamukura... Izuru...

[Nanami is silent for a very long time. She stares at him with wide eyes as her thoughts slow to molasses consistency, knives digging into her chest as she remembers each and every detail of every single murder and execution. All of the pain her friends went through.

When she remembers the epilogue she had pushed through with shaking fingers, Nanami finds her voice again. It is still weak and trembling, but there's an underlying firmness to it.] No... If the ending was true, then you're still Hinata-kun. At heart, you still are. [A sound similar to a laugh leaves her lips, albeit a little broken.] The epilogue... could've been a little better. Not that it was bad. But it left a lot unanswered.

[She's almost afraid of what she asks next.] Do you know what happened to the rest of my... no. The rest of our classmates? Have they woken up from the program? Or what happened to... "this" me, that wasn't an AI, or Sensei?

[He stares at her for a long moment before he finally says,]

I see. We've been arguing for a long time on how to end the games for good. She has a way that is... I don't agree with it. While I've been looking into the keys.

You might be able to leave a marker at sites we identify as where the keys need to go. We can't go past the barrier but we can look into anything inside it.

[raisingproject]

[He can't help but blush a little at that look over.] A-h, um. I had some help.

Anyway, we need to look at the edges of the barrier and find the locations the keys need to be placed. You're right, we can't touch them. But the living can and we can leave marks at whatever we discover.

[What else. They need to make a quicker line of communication.] ...we need a faster way to contact them that isn't by letter. Or as tiring as switching forms.

I don't know. Nanami, we forget things when we die here. We're being drained of our mana. I didn't even remember my name until Zange told me what it was.

[He drops out of magical form and leans back against the bench. Another name. He'd heard it in the game but it's different being spoken.]

I wish i could answer for you but, I think things will turn out alright.

[telecosmetic]

[Eliza shakes her head.] It was too dark. I think it was a man, though. I...I don't blame any of you, though.

[telecosmetic]

[Eliza nods.] I'll do that once I figure out how to recognize those spots. It'll have to be pretty obvious...

Afterparty

[telecosmetic]

[Eliza is not pleased at this scene.] Hey! Leave him alone! You shouldn't be pointing swords at people during something serious like this! [Eliza is going to make a few futile attempts to shove Szayel's sword aside, but finally gives up on that and turns to the food tables. It seems pretty rude to actually throw something at him...so instead she just tries to grab a marshmallow from one plate and shove it onto the tip of the sword.]

Unfortunately, no. People must die in order to get the keys and people have to die to give me power. One way or the other, people will have to get killed in order to save everyone.

[...] It's not the best option, but it's the only option we have right now.

[selfloving]

[She looks a little smug. Something about getting that kind of response is all too worth it.]

That should be doable, though I doubt our efforts will be met with unanimous support. [Bark bark Zange.]

I heard earlier that the network seems to be malfunctioning. What are the odds we could use that as our means?

I don't know.

[She wishes she could give a better answer, but she cant.]

When I was alive, I really hated whoever was putting us through this, but it's been such a long time...you've gotten here more recently, how do you feel about her?

Week 3, after trial (and probably after afterparty)

Um...hi Zange. Hinata mentioned something about specific spots that have to be used for the key ritual...he said you'd know more about how to find those spots. Can you tell us about that?

Going Home Meeting

[Eliza "tut's" when Szayel brings out his sword again.]

Didn't you learn from last time? Put - [She grabs a snack from a plate. Hey, just because there's no marshmallows doesn't mean she can't throw stuff at you.] - that - [She throws it at his head] - away!

...We could test it. It can't hurt to see if we can.

[Hinata spreads his hands apart, glancing at everyone in the room.]

This is new territory for all of us. We tried to be listened to for ages and now with the keys being turned, there's more freedom.

[A network malfunction. Their phones can only talk to the dead. But maybe...] I still don't know how those letters are made. But maybe we could use something like that?

They can't hear you. [Hinata says as he catches the snack in mid-air and drops it to the ground.] This isn't helping, either.

Do you know how this looks to them?

[crossingout]

Ah, that's right. Basically the keys have to be placed on the town's borders once the entirety of town A is revealed and along the sides, around the central areas across the border to cover the entire town.

[selfloving]

The letters...That girl has a lot of control over how they go out.

[She seems intent on arguing that they aren't real, too. Enough people in the courtroom already doubt their veracity.

She lowers her voice.]

You know her well enough. Do you think there's any chance she'll accommodate our efforts? Or will we have to find other means?

[selfloving]

I don't know.

[She waits a beat. It's a petty thing but not necessarily another instance of sarcasm.

One stares straight ahead, mouth drawn tight.] I certainly despise her. But what can I say about her motivations? To save your world, wouldn't those means be justified?

[selfloving]

Is that the ritual she told me about when I first arrived?

I tried to listen to her fairly, but I was...displeased.

[There's no humor in her smile. Of course, she committed all of Zange's words to memory. But even then--she lacks the meaning to make sense of them.]
