The last thing you remember is dying. Whether it's by murder or execution, that's was all it. But surprisingly enough, you wake up in the hotel room that you were assigned in, as if you had never died to begin with. However, once you walk right outside, you'll start noticing that while this is the Town A you remember, there are some slight differences that you notice.

The first thing is the fact that while you can see those who are still alive, they simply cannot see you. In fact, they pass through you, as if you were a ghost. And spoilers: you kind of are one, now. The second thing is that sometimes, if you look at a building for too long or too closely, you'll notice that it fizzles a bit, almost glitchy.

But that's completely fine, isn't it? There is, however, one more thing to keep in mind: there are voices of other people, mumuring. Of course, these other people, unlike you, don't have a complete shape; they're just a silhouette of themselves, looking like static.

However: it wouldn't be Town A without an announcement, would it? Of course not. Hence why upon rearriving, there will be a message, typed out:

Welcome to the afterlife, everyone. This is a greeting message to introduce you to how exactly this works. You have the ability to send one message to the living a week, so choose your words wisely. Of course, there are limitations to what you can say! You cannot reveal the mastermind's true identity, even if you know it. You cannot reveal a culprit or a victim, even if you know it.

Also, all messages will be sent to all players during the trials. If there is no trial, the message shall be sent on Saturday. You may investigate as you wish. If you have any questions to ask of me, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

[She stares. He's...looking at her? She waves slowly.] You...can see me?

[Not really the greeting he was expecting.]

[She still doesn't actually know you killed her, okay? Otherwise she'd have broken a plate over your head a while ago.]

Wh-what happened? It's...it's really early in the week, isn't it? There wasn't even a motive!

I don't think the person doing this cares.

...so, you know who killed you then? Oh, and, um, we've found out who the mastermind is. It's not really like what you'd think at all...

[And more importantly, to Kaine anyway...]

[She leaps down from the tree first.] Please...don't run off to yell at her or anything, okay? It's Zange. Everything M says is just her acting like a jerk to hide her identity. She was part of a previous game...and now she has to run them, or else her world will be destroyed. A lot of the stuff like the hostage motive and that duel weren't her idea, either.

[theotherother]

What the fuck?!

[He's definitely having trouble with this.]

You're telling me this whole fucking time, she was...

[He can't even begin to wrap his mind around it. To the point where the other stuff Eliza said just kind of went in one ear and out the other.]

She didn't want to get targeted because of it, so she tricked everyone...but she's been revealing herself to everyone who arrives here eventually.

Great, so even being dead doesn't give you a break from this town being a bunch of messed up bullshit.

[That's wonderful. Then again, not really a surprise. Being dead's never really been a break for him, so why would it be this time?]

I'm sorry you have to deal with this.

[telecosmetic]

[She manages a smile, although there are tears in it.] You...don't really have to be sorry. It's not like you killed me or anything.

[theotherother]

[He is not making eye contact with that. Nope. What's over here to look at? Looks like more park. Yeah, that works. He'll just stare at the park over here.]

I didn't try. I was thinking about...no, I was probably going to.

[She stares at him some more, rubbing some tears out of her eyes.] It...it was kind of a mess, wasn't it? I guess...I guess if it was an accident I can't really be mad at you for that...

[She turns away, rubbing at her eyes some more.]

[telecosmetic]

[And then she turns around, transforming.]

How could you hurt Recette like that? [And then she's going to try and punch him in the stomach.] You could have confessed, instead of killing One!

[theotherother]

[Out of habit, which works way better than last time he was facing Eliza and moved out of habit, Kaine jumps back, and lands against a tree, his feet sticking to the sides of it. Looks like he's got that back, not that he's noticed at the moment.]

I wanted to. You think I didn't?

[It's been eating at him every day since he killed Eliza. He spent the whole trial wanting to confess, it's why he didn't throw anyone else under the bus, why he didn't protest things unless they were wrong, he wanted nothing more than for the votes to come up for him, he even voted for himself, but...]

I needed the wish, okay? Not for me, but...for someone back home.

[He's not proud of it. Hell, the person he wished for would probably be pissed if she knew, but...everybody gets pissed off at him and hates him, it's nothing new.]

[telecosmetic]

[She's still glaring at him, but at least this time she doesn't overshoot. Although her expression becomes more surprised when she sees him stick to the tree.]

Are you a ninja? [However, that question soon gets forgotten as he explains about the wish.] What kind of wish did you need? How do you know you'd even get proof that it came true and that it came true right?

No, I...

[Have cloned radioactive spider blood.]

What I am isn't important. And I don't know if it'll come true, but...it's better than nothing.

[telecosmetic]

[Eliza looks down at her feet. Part of her can understand prioritizing the people you care about over others, but still...]

Was a wish really the only way you could save her? [Joshua thought the only way to save Estelle was to become a mole, and look at what happened...]

[theotherother]

If I don't, no, when I don't make it back...

[There, he'll correct himself.]

She's all alone. And that's my fault.

[...so yeah, to Kaine's mind at least, it was insurance basically. Possibly.]

[telecosmetic]

[A pause, as she closes her eyes and actually thinks this over.] ...you care about her a lot, don't you? But...your hostage wasn't a girl. [She can tell that much at least. However, she then thinks a bit more.] I guess that makes sense if you wished for her to be safe...

[theotherother]

My brother was a hostage. That's why I wasn't worried. He can take care of himself.

[...actually...]
